Dr. Bauchner also serves as the vice chairman of the department of pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine and has extensive experience on various editorial boards. In this interview, Dr. Bauchner discusses his initiatives to expand the digital reach of JAMA and gives insight into the process of JAMA publishing the only academic paper by a sitting U.S. president to date — then-President Barack Obama’s piece, “United States Health Care Reform: Progress to Date and Next Steps," in July 2016.
