Ami Dang makes a wonderful blend of pop, electronica, world music; it is simultaneously all of the above, and music that transcends categorization in a single one of these categories. Drawing from inspiration rooted in her Classical music-infused upbringing (both Western and traditional Indian) along with the constant surroundings of pop culture; her electronic production and composition background from Oberlin; and the flourishing DIY scene of Baltimore, Ami Dang makes music that clearly and fully represents her. Ami Dang has played at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and toured with Grimes, along with performances at countless festivals beyond SXSW.
